LILYA í the Contact Theatre-Manchester

 

 Silfurtunglið setur upp leikritið LILYA eftir Jón Gunnar 

Leikgerð gerð úr kvikmyndinni Lilya 4 Ever eftir Lukas Moodysson 

Sýningin er frumsýnd þann 15 apríl í The Conatct Theatre í Manchester.  Sýningin vekur athygli í Manchester og þá sérstaklega vegna þess að þar er mansal mikið vandamál.  The Contact Theatre er metnaðarfullt leikhús , frumlegasta leikhús Englendinga samkvæmt Time Out.

Sagan segir frá Lilju sem á heima í gömlu Sovíetríkjunum og sambandi hennar við Volodja, 11 ára dreng sem byr að mestu leiti á götunni.  Lilja kynnist Andrei og hann platar hana til að koma með sér til Manchester.  Loforð um drauma og betra líf eru brotin og Lilja er læst inni í herbergi í Manchester.  

 Sagan er átakaleg en falleg, saga sem þarf að segja.
